Zing!

ooookay, Mama Kat. I'm impressed by your rather contemporary use of "hot mess" (referring here to Tommie and not, say, a spilled pot of oatmeal), buuuut, while "old-fashioned school marm" and "flaming hot mess" unquestionably insult Margo and Tommie's taste, "blonde Barbie doll" more says dumb but hot. Not really an insult of the same caliber! If "Barbie doll" were to say anything about fashion, I guess it would be "slutty bimbo chic," but come on, no one in this strip is slutty bimbo chic, even if they should be. (I'm looking at you, Gina.) Frank Bolle just doesn't have it in him.

And, do I have to say it? Glass houses, Kat and Kitty!

In this pornified world, I have to say the first suggestion Google makes when you start typing in "lovely ladies" is this page. FTW!

Are those semicolons in Mama Kat's dialogue box?? And correctly used! I'm impressed!

Also, I can't believe Margo looks like the least hostile of the three!

Okay, I have never heard the word "marm" in my life... anyone have an etymology on that?

Also, I'm glad you brought up the glass houses, Mags, because these two are no Stacy and Clinton, that's for sure!

That pink blazer Lu Ann is wearing is pretty Barbie, I'd say.

"Marm" is a variation on "ma'am". Usually only seen in the construct "schoolmarm" or "school marm"

For example, Laura Ingalls Wilder was a schoolmarm. The teacher in Snuffy Smith is a schoolmarm.

I think Lu Ann's Barbie vibe has a lot to do with the hair, both color and style. She needs a more contemporary style and low-lights to rise out of Barbie-dom.

As for Hot Mess and Schoolmarm: I predict hair extensions for Tommie. The de-bunning of Margo may actually be the harder job. I'm pretty sure varnish-like hairspray is involved.

I like how Ruby gets off scot free, as if her look is fine. McClure, how have you never heard the word marm?
