Amy!
................Amy? Not in the history of this blog has there been an Amy. And yet here she is, empathizing. Does Margo really require three assistants, or is Amy just a friend of Carla's who also happens to be lined up to interview for Carla's spot? She's wearing the watch color of canary yellow. Maybe she'll be the next to smoke bomb a piece of Margo's real estate.

Wrongful Termination Suit
Margo is technically correct. Blondes with flippy hairstyles in pink blouses are interchangeable in this strip. But Carla is still storming up the steps to her
Wednesday, April 1st
Carla is displaying all the characteristics of a perpetually emotionally abused employee. Instead of telling Margo to take this job and shove it, she is following from the office library to the decorative fruit bowl trying to come back for more beratings. Get some self respect, girl!

Booked Solid
Which would be the better reading?
A. "Okay, Margo," Carla whispered softly. "You don't have to demean me." Her hand gently caressed Margo's shirt collar, absently straightening out a wrinkled lapel, as she had so many times before. Margo smiled inwardly; there would be time enough to demean Carla later.
B. "Okay, Margo," Carla whispered coldly. "You don't have to demean me." She had moved unnervingly close; close enough for Margo to see the anger flash in her eyes. Carla's hand hovered just above her shoulder. Suddenly she felt a strange tightening in her throat. The realization hit her like a ton of squiggle art: Carla was the Sith Lord.

The Buck Stops Here
Talk to the hand, because the face has clocked out for the weekend. I wonder why Sam is upset... Is it because Gabby has stopped having a relationship with the groom-to-be or because she has yet to completely obey the teachings of the cult of wedding superstitions he's been trying to indoctrinate her in?
I wonder if the bloggers were good enough this year for Santa to bring us either an actual storyline or a swift end to whatever this is. I'd settle for Sam being a hilarious incidental character.

Long Week
In case you missed Saturday's strip, it was basically Martin telling Gabriella, "Margo loves you so much and she'll always make time for you and she's really committed to planning this wedding!" So any upcoming strips involving Sam the de facto wedding planner are sure to be delightful... unlike the tragic plot twist that every woman in the strip except Margo and Tommie is forced to have a shoulder-length flip hairdo, dyed either jet black or canary yellow.

Free Lunch
Keep working? Or start working since you spent the whole morning mooning over Greg in your office armchair? Margo's dedication to her job, which is apparently so strong that it doomed her relationship with Greg, is easily overcome by her even stronger desire that no one but her have fun/nice things.
Good thing Margo can dump all the work she is supposed to be doing on Carla, who can finish it up while she eats a mushy PB&J at her desk, again.

Top Priority
I like the empty space at the top of the word balloons in the second panel... as if there's room to write your own interpretation of what they're saying.
Margo: I'm a busy person, Dad. Da-AD! I'm busy, okay?? I don't have time to figure out why my mom suddenly stopped saying "Ay carumba" or whatever. See? Carla says I have a client. (Thanks Carla, you're a lifesaver!)
Martin: Trust me, Margo, this is a top priority. For you, not me. I'm really worried-ish about your mom, but I've got stuff going on too, you know! My friends at the Pro Shop miss me and those seasonal novelty whiskeys aren't going to drink themselves.

At Margo's Agency...
And who is this lovely redhead, may I ask? Why it's Carla, Margo's assistant who does, surprisingly, exist, and whom I'm shocked Margaret and Frank remembered. Though they didn't remember her age. ...eh, blame the colorists.

Stressful
I imagine having Lu Ann visit you at work is a lot like your mom visiting you at work. You're really flustered to see her there in the first place, and then she starts asking uncomfortable questions like "So this is your desk--but where do your friends sit?" or "I know what your job is, but what do you really do all day?" and talking to your coworkers about you and THEN out come the baby pictures. ...okay, so maybe it's not exactly the same.

Staff Meeting
Whhhhhhhhhhhy do you guys need a staff meeting? Isn't that just Margo, Evan and maybe Carla, maybe? Couldn't that just be reduced to a coffee break, or a mid-morning massage?

No Names
Wednesday, August 29
No, I mean it literally looks like his grandma dressed him in her clothes, dyed his hair white, and slapped some reading glasses on him. Oh, wait, that's not Evan?
Thursday, August 30
Of course not, Greg. Of course it's not your imagination. I'm not sure what else she can do to get rid of you, but please take a hint and get the hell out. She'll take what's behind door #2 - some "visitors" whose names Carla was too inept to even ask for. Hopefully they're cute, too! (Probably at least one of them looks exactly like Greg, anyway.)

Cougar Carla
I'll admit that when this Sal Feola character was first introduced, I imagined a short, stocky, "guido-y" guy with slicked back hair and chomping on a cigar. Apparently, I was wrong and he's BREATHTAKING, which in the A3G world means he probably looks a lot like Paul Linski, albeit with black hair.
I also had to spend two minutes going back and making sure that Carla isn't the same person as Evan's grandmother. She's not, but it's close.

Monster.com
Monday, August 6th
"Ms. Magee, your ten o'clock evisceration is right on schedule!" "Excellent Carla, hopefully he is a worthy sacrifice and will slake my thirst for human souls..."
Doesn't Margo already have an assistant? What is Mr. Graham applying for? Besides the joy of wetting himself with fear?
Tuesday, August 7th
"Is it this dark, malevolent shadow behind me that is slowly creeping upon you? Don't worry, it's very selective about the souls it destroys...You're not really it's type..."
It seems as if Margo used the rumor mill to publicize herself. Maybe she really does have a gift for this business.
