I guess when Blaze said "I wish I could pay you more," Tommie understood it to mean he would pay her some small salary, and Blaze understood it to mean sweet, unpaid labor. Did we ever see Tommie quit her job (or get fired, I guess), or did she just stop showing up to work? It's going to be hard to get good references that way.
What happened to Tommie's hair in panel 2? She looks like a elf or something otherworldly. Very strange.
Don't you think they could collect rent from the tenants in the building they own?
