I though Lu Ann's mom was institutionalized or something crazy like that, but I think actually Lu Ann's sister was institutionalized (or something) and Mrs. Lu Ann is taking care of her. Or something. Here's the only strip I could find about it, back when Lu Ann was hanging out with her pops up in South Dakota. Funny she didn't want to spend more time out there!March 2, 2009

Are the authors revising Lu Ann's past? Is she no longer a widow? Look at today's (Monday's) strip. Most second brides aren't wiggy about choosing a dress, nor do they consider traditional white gowns. Or do they these days? Miss Manners, help!
No no, mrvy, see that's why Ruby just about gave herself whiplash with that head spin Monday. As a widow, Lu Ann can't be allowed to wear white. BUT, has Lu Ann even told Paul that she's a widow? I think not, considering the other things she hasn't told him. Will this give Ruby a chance to perform a Mary Worth-y meddle? We shall see.
