By Force If Needed

Is it more surprising that an urban millennial (I guess?) subscribes to a daily newspaper, or that Lu Ann is reading? Discuss.

Frank's just a nostalgic kind of guy, I guess...

I love how Margo and Lu Ann are talking about a 6 hour round trip as if it will take up days of time! I guess Margo is a micromanager and can't even be away for a day...

The daily newspaper is simply a decorating touch. It fits in with the black Bakelite rotary phone for that mid-century modern look.

Is Margo really going to stage an intervention? This ought to be good!

These ladies are true hipsters! They've transcended the trends and are sticking with tried-and-true tangible objects for their social and media needs. "Internet? P'shaw!" says Lu Ann (p'shaw also being a retro hipster retort now, you just haven't heard of it)

You think they're backwards, but they are so forwards it's blowing your mind!

The most hilarious part of today's strip is that it's taken three weeks for Margo to notice that Tommie's not around to cook dinner for her. I guess LuAnn's cooking must be adequate enough in the meantime.

I think after 3 weeks LuAnn's finally picking up the newspapers they carpeted the apartment with in a vain attempt to housebreak Lily. (Margo refused to touch them and walking through animal waste made LuAnn nostalgic about her prairie/ranch roots. Plus they were both holding out for Tommie to come back and do it.)
At least now we know how long it takes for Margo's disdain for Tommie to be overcome by her boredom with Carnation instant breakfast and hotpocket dinners.

I agree, I think these ladies are ultra hipsters, as well as extremely sustainable. Have you seen their clothes? I think they have three outfits each. Prairie chic!
