Family Ties

Technically, the trip would be to Hoboken, which I imagine has cheaper hotel rates than Manhattan. Did you even check Priceline.com? William Shatner has led me to believe that whatever you want to pay for a trip is what it costs!

What on earth could have possibly happened between Lu Ann and her family? All the "drama" in this strip is so milquetoast that it's probably something super lame that we'll build up to until early 2012, when it will collapse like a bad souffle. Are they jealous of her golden locks and unaged complexion?

Haven't Luann and her family always had problems? Beauty and the Beast?

It's akin to Marilyn Munster. They don't realize Lu Ann is the normal pretty one in the family. I use the term "normal" loosely.

I dimly remember Lu Ann's messed up estranged family going back years, like back to the beginning of the strip. I vaguely remember it popping up in the darkest mists of time (ie. when Margo had the bun), but other than the South Dakota trip I can't remember it coming up recently. I think like Margo's cold distant adopted mother it is supposed to explain her personality. Maybe she "needs" soneone like the Linskis appear to be. Except we all know that Hoboken is a codeward for Innsmouth.... And Linski isn't really their name...
