Some kind of disconnect in Scott's brain, mayhaps? Fred: "Have you come up with a name for my GRANDDAUGHTER, Scott?" Scott: "Not yet, I was hoping for a GIRL." Does Scott think that a granddaughter is a boy, and so he hasn't started considering girl names?? What kind of answer is that? And when, exactly, was he going to start thinking about names, like maybe by the time Baby was ready for school?
