Ooh. A new challenge to stasis.
Marrying out of the apartment didn't work (twice), moving to SOUTH DAKOTA!! didn't work, mysteriously hitting the road with new-found birth mother Ruby for a five-month tour that no one talked about didn't work.
So, let's try something else! How about selling your share of the apartment building that I guess you co-own? There's no way Margo will let you live here without paying rent. This may be Lu Ann's craftiest plan for getting evicted yet.

Stasis? we can look forward to at least 3 months before there's anything close to an explanation of what Lu Ann is planning.
Isn't it obvious? Lu Ann's going to marry Mike and co-concierge Martin's hotel. All those visits to Martin were actually hanky-panky with Mike!
Wait, they own the apartment? Is this canon or more word vomit from LuAnn?
I believe the girls actually own the building. Can anyone confirm or deny? It would explain why they don't seem to devote a ton of energy to their careers.
Who could blame LuAnn for wanting out of this terrible comic? Perhaps she wants her own trip. Oh, wait, there's already a mediocre comic called LuAnn, I think.
I think I remember reading that Margo owns the building.
On another note: a commentator on Comics Kingdom has reported that the painting is titled Persistence of Spinach and was painted by Sarah Morgan.
All: I think the gang owns the apartment building! The phrase in this post "the apartment building I guess you co-own?" links to the August 2004 strip where Margo states outright that they own the building. Link here: http://joshreads.com/?p=40 (Thanks as always to the Comics Curmudgeon for being an excellent A3G resource.)
Also, good for Sarah Morgan for getting her work out there! Lu Ann will tell you: being an artist is challenging, but it pays the bills! Dependably! And lucratively! Even for the most untalented hack! Not that Lu Ann knows anything about untalented hackery!
Ah, I clicked that but somehow my reading comprehension failed (I blame lack of sleep/finals week, blargh!) Thanks for the clarification Maggie!
