Too Wired

Is this... Margo's hospital room? I'm sure the green curtains and bookshelf of encyclopedias have been sourced through evidence-based design, but I feel like Tommie should at least be wearing scrubs, right? Maybe one of those little hats? Also, Tommie literally just told Eric to stay in Margo's hospital room all night, so I don't get where this "Enough sleeping in that chair, go sleep at home" 'tude is coming from.

Alternately, Eric could be waking up from a year-long "what if Margo got hyperthyroidism and I came ?" dream, and now he'll go into the bathroom and find Patrick Duffy taking a shower. And scene!

Seriously, though, fauxprof is right, shouldn't somebody tell Margo's parents?

Lampy's hanging out in Margo's hospital room, too! Why not? Nobody bothered it.

"Have you been sleeping in that chair, Eric? Didn't I tell you to watch her like a hawk? Honestly, you're about as dense and useless as that blonde girl I live with!"

Sadly, I have a lot of experience with hospital rooms over this last bad year. No, hospital rooms are not furnished like that. Yes, nurses do wear scrubs, but they no longer wear caps. Hospice rooms are more homelike (sad experience, again) but let's hope Margo isn't ready for hospice just yet. Incidentally, this blog, and Wanders' Mary Worth and Me have been bright spots and lifelines for me. Thanks, everybody, and let's get back to snarky, now.

...unless they're naughty nurses.

I think Frank has trained me not to be nitpicky about the backgrounds. Let's just be happy they're not outside.

I'm preeeety sure the nurses uniform at Manhattan General is going to turn out to be turtlenecks.
In fact, given the background decor, Tommie briefing Eric on Margo's condition in the street instead of a hospital waiting room and the fact that 'Manhattan General Hospital' closed in 1964 I'm working on the theory that they've just conducted a home invasion and have Margo stashed in some random stranger's apartment.

Barking Monkey,

Your theory makes as much sense as anything else in this strip!

I guess it would be too weird to just call them up on the phone, wouldn't it? Also, aren't they living in separate places? Isn't Martin still living at the hotel managed by Mike Downey, that "smug creature" who pushes all of Lu Ann's buttons?
