This is Greg Talking, Margo!

Wednesday November 4, 2015

Thursday November 5, 2015
Oh man. The abundance of red milk and Anjou pears can't hide that the artwork has worsened noticeably, even since just the beginning of this week. Poor Frank isn't even signing his name anymore, he's just kind of scrawling his initials. The end is near.

In the meantime, it's helpful that at least Martin and Eric have different sports coats on now. (Right? Those are different people?) And I do appreciate Greg introducing himself in the most awkward way possible. It's hard to tell from Margo's reaction whether she's sustained some kind of memory loss or she's just a little disoriented from the Thy. Storm or the writing is just so bad, just so bad, why is it ending like this, why, uh huh huh huhhhhhhhhhh....  (NB: that's the sound of me dissolving into tears)

It hasn't been announced when the strip is ending, or has it? Is it done by end of year?

I don't really hope for closure, but ... well, some kind of wrap-up would be nice.

There, there, Maggie. This is Molly talking. I've missed you and feared for you. We'll figure it all out but right now I need to take your vital signs.

DON'T NAG MARGARET SHULOCK, MAGGIE!

Sorry, just needed to see how this dialogue worked in real (aka comment section) life. It doesn't.

OK, let's try some visualization therapy. Picture Margo in a hospital bed, complete with IV tubes, with her eyes closed, semi conscious. Greg is sitting by the bed, holding her hand. The dialogue, although stilted, now makes sense. Maybe that's what Shulock intended, instead of characters with melting faces and random backgrounds...oh, crap, Maggie, now I'm gonna cry, too.

Margo is sort of back to her old self. "Oh. Greg. It's you. Ho-hum. How's that other fellow doing? You know, the hot one. The one that I really love. I'm cravin' for his bod, and here I am stuck with you ... Yawn! ... Where's Tommie? I need my pillows fluffed up a little!"

The last strip has been announce as November 22.
I figure the syndicate got the 11/23 strip from Frank. They couldn't tell if it had Margo & LuAnn or 2 Gary Larsen cows, so they had to pull the plug.
