Margo looks exasperated to the point of almost fainting in the first panel, but notice how quickly she and Tommie begin to look incredulous. No, Lu Ann, we haven't ever thought about having kids, because we've been stuck in this same apartment, at the same age, with the same idiot roommate for 50 years. I'm not sure how the logistics of that would work out, and I don't want to be stuck with a newborn for another 50 years. Also, every single relationship we've ever had has failed miserably and/or tragically, so I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself there, Susie Sunshine. You think Wally getting run over was bad, just wait til you see what happens to your precious Paul....Oh... I mean, no, not really.

Well, others have been stuck with newborns and toddlers for years and years. Joan, of Stone Soup, has both, and they are forever the same age. A depressing thought, though.
I've been waiting for the proverbial 'other shoe to drop' with Paul. I was sure that was happening when it wound up being his younger bro in the hospital. Oh well, we still have time...
