Mother of the Year

Is Tommie a doctor now? Why is she delivering the results? And just because Nina has high blood pressure doesn't mean she smokes. She could have preeclampsia. Tommie, maybe you should stop playing doctor for a second and get a professional in there.

OK, I think we can stop beating the dead horse of how little Nina wants to have this baby and discuss how horrified I would be if someone that I knew was like "Hey, do you want to midwife my baby (that I don't really want)?" How could you ever have a normal relationship with someone after you've ripped a slimy, alien-looking life form from their loins?

Wow. I'm starting to believe that Nina is a worse person than Margo.

Also, thanks for the lovely mental image!

Also, why does it show that I deleted my comment. I thought I was being crafty by catching a typo. Damn you, blogger.

Tommie is the only employee in this hospital, that's why her music career is suffering.

Nina made the ultimate sacrifice to give her husband a baby, but there were no promises about a healthy baby. Smoking, drinking, crack, it's all fair game.

I still doubt that she's really pregnant. The only bump we saw was 2/10/2012. Since then they've only discussed her condition. Highly suspicious. Peter Funt might pop out and utter his famous tagline while Tommie is midwifing up to her elbows.

That's ALAN Funt, Ken. And Candid Camera got done in by the one-two punch of the iPhone and YouTube.
But what am I saying? A3G exists in a world where mobile phones go "click" (and probably have dials). So...GO, Alan!

Peter is Allen's son, who took over the show in the 1990's.

I'm not old enough to have seen Allen as the host.

When I used to watch Hong Kong soap operas, everything we have seen for the past two weeks would be telgraphing that Nina would die in labor and either Tommie or Margo would attempt to help Scott Gaines (tm) raise the baby, only to be replaced by said Scott Gaines (tm) once attached to the baby. Much use of tissue following...

But that will probably not happen in 3G...

@Roy - I like that plot line.

Sunday's strip features Nina as the doctor with a lab coat. Her hair grows about 2-3 inches from the second panel to the last. Tommie is holding what is supposed to be Nina's chart but looks about the size of Nina's personalized memo pad. Maybe Margo stole it from Nina's desk.

Hang in there Frank.

P.S. I love that this is how you describe childbirth, Megan. I mean, it's exactly right, but still.
