This bold technique was pioneered by Greg Brady, who taught it to his sister Marcia when she wanted to break her date with Charlie so she could go out with Doug Simpson, BMOC. Vague enough to spare Charlie's feelings, but firm enough to send the message, "something suddenly came up" changed the way I would blow people off for the rest of my life.It's probably worth noting that both Nora and her apartment look pretty different from last week, with Nora looking hardly at all like Marlo Thomas, more like a Claire Bloom circa Charly, I guess. Actually, that's a pretty bad match, I think I just wanted to name drop Claire Bloom. Who does she look like, though?

Seems to me that people are always inviting themselves into people's houses in this strip... I hope Nora has the same gang to come to her rescue when Tom turns into whats-his-name who attacked Tommie! Because what kind of creeper turns up after the "something suddenly came up"?

Oh my god, what an awesome idea! Ruby, Professor and Tazer Lady crash the apartment and drag Tom out. They could be like the Unwanted Visitors Justice Squad.
Um, Nora is Tim Millss old fiance... or something. Tim (Margo's fiance Eric's brother) disappeared while in Tibet years ago, so Nora's been trying to move on, which Margo yelled at her about. Which was why she was all shook up last week. I think.
