I really thought this would turn into a big reconciliatory roommate bonding thing, with Tommie and Lu Ann chipping in to help save Marbriella's wedding. But no, I guess a random waitress introduced in the last six months is going to jump in and fix everything. Score another point for Margo McGee's
amazing organizational skills!

Who's Marbriella? Oh, wait, I get it ... Margo and Gabriella! Wait, are those two going to be a couple? Margo and her mother? Ew, gross!
I've seen this movie before. Margo says, "Everything is perfect! I am not going to go insane! And I only have three days left before I can retire!" and then steps into an open manhole and goes permanently insane. Cut to a close-up of a single tear sliding down Lily's cheek to make the point that humans are the real monsters.
I think Marbriella is Martin and Gabriella. Not so freaky after all. The strip's dialogue on Tuesday, however, is truly disturbing.
It's all exactly like any number of "Twilight Zone" episodes. The difference is that Rod Serling would've written a script with a creepy tautness to it, a perfect economy of words so that you could get the whole story in just 24 minutes.
This is a "Twilight Zone" episode that's been going on for seven months, with no commercial break in sight.
I'm still waiting for Margo to meet the Mysterious Stranger enough times to unlock the ramp to the upper playfield for those bonus points and an extra ball. Battle the Power, Margo! The robot can help! Tilt with the devil and you'll live in... The Twilight Zone!
On a serious note, it seems to me that Margo is exhibiting the symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Something that sad is more up Funky Winkerbean's alley, but the unreasonable aggressive behavior coupled with not recognizing familiar surroundings is making me think of a lovely, vibrant woman I knew who was struck down by that terrible, cruel disease. I wish they would give a reason for this behavior that has some hope of a happy ending because this is beginning to feel to me like Tom Batiuk has secretly taken over writing this strip. If this is what he's got in mind for Margo, what will become of the others??????
Can't wait for this story line to resolve itself. When it does, I'm out of here for good. This strip has really become tedious, and is no longer well-drawn or well-scripted. Ugh!
