Boring Promises

I actually had to go back and look at past strips because I was confused. The only promise Tommie seems to have made to Carol is to tell her her story, but surely that's happened already? Off-panel? In the weeks they've been developing a friendship? And they just felt no need to rehash the story for us readers since we actually saw it happen?

My only hope is that this is a different promise that occurred off-panel and involves some kind of suicide pact. Makes you wonder what Tommie is referring to in the second panel. (Of course, if this did happen, it would definitely never be shown and would only be explained by turtleneck-wearing Margo and LuAnn in a future strip, whereas in reality I think we are about to get more exposition about something uninteresting we've already seen. And that's A3G, ladies and gentlemen.)

I vote for the off-panel suicide pact! That way, Margo and Lu Ann can find a more interesting roommate back in Apartment 3-G.

(I can't believe I'm thinking Lu Ann is more interesting than Tommie, but she did dump the Governor of New York at the Governor's Ball, so...)

I think this strip was written just to encourage the slashfic community. Over on Tumblr, hundreds of people are now writing Carol/Tommie slashfic.

Also Lily turns out to be some guy in a "My Little Pony" fursuit.

Also, I almost forgot to say...

END! END! END! END!

If I do this enough times, the power of my mind will make that traffic light turn green!

Hmmmm, suicide pact, that's much better than my theories. That Tommie is in love with Lily. Or in love with Mary. All of mine leave me a little queasy.... I'll stick with your idea.

Huh? Why is Tommie calling Lu Ann "Carol"?

With all these emo problems I'm surprised they don't drink more. I kown I do, with the depression I feel every time I read it. Ya, Bagface, it is hard.

I did the same thing, Casey. I was like "Ooooh, a promise?? Juicy! I can't wa--oh wait this is A3G. She promised some kind of exposition, didn't she." And so she did... exposition we've already witnessed, no less.
