Her? I think it's a bit hasty to call Tommie well-adjusted. We haven't even gotten our first inkling of how this trans-Atlantic love affair will fall apart. I'll bet it's because Tommie returns to her job at the hospital and befriends a a terminally ill orphan. When Sir James decides that it is time for the wedding and for Tommie to hop across the pond, she'll choose her career. And Margo and Lu Ann will secretly rejoice. Anyone else have any ideas?

I still think he is an imposter. Why else would he get engaged to Tommie
I think you nailed it.
I think the climax of Tommie's mom's wedding will be interrupted by Aunt Iris revealing that James and Roy are the ringleaders of a plot to smuggle tiny tomato, watercress and spam sandwiches out of the US in cricket bats, and police will lead them away. Meanwhile Tommie will have to administer lifesaving sedatives to suppress Margo's out-of-control bouts of laughter. All of this will be revealed after the fact in heretofore unrealized heights of "talk-about-rather-than-show"ness.
Her?
Who on the planet would be calling a friend "well-adjusted" when that friend is marrying someone she doesn't know that well and who is a foreigner to boot! The description would be more likely "temporarily deranged".
Seriously. Here are the questions my friends and I would be asking: "Does Tommie know what's she doing? Where will they live? If she moves to England, will her nursing certificate be transferrable? How will Tommie deal with sexism in Bristish society? Is she really just going to become the submissive wife? "
